Lasagne Pasta Sheets essential Waitrose 375g
Our pasta is made in the Campania region of Italy from 100% Italian durum wheat

Prepare & Use
No pre-cooking required before use
9-12 sheets lasagne
2 Tablespoon Parmesan Cheese, grated
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 stick of celery, finely chopped
2 gloves of garlic, peeled and crushed
1 tablespoon olive oil
50g smoked streaky bacon, chopped
450g lean minced beef
150ml red wine
4 tablespoons tomato purée
400g canned, chopped tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
Freshly ground black pepper

1 small onion, halved
50g plain flour
Freshly ground black pepper
Fry onion, carrot celery and garlic in oil until the onion softens
Add the bacon and mince and cook until browned
Stir in the remaining meat sauce ingredients, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes
Meanwhile heat the bay leaf, onion and milk together to just below simmering point. Leave to infuse off the heat for a few minutes. Strain.
Melt the butter, add the flour and stirring well after each addition.
Stirring continuously, bring the sauce to the boil, then simmer for 1-2 minutes until it has thickened. Add the nutmeg and seasoning to taste.
Spoon a layer of meat sauce, then bèchamel sauce, then lasagne.
Repeat this process covering the lasagne with a final layer of bèchamel sauce.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese then bake at 180°C or gas mark 4 for 30 - 35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
Serve with crusty bread and a crisp green salad
Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw meat.
