Organic pork leg joint
A fabulous joint of meat! We recommend roasting in a hot oven to create the crackling then bring the temperature down to slow roast, the result is a beautiful succulent meat – tender on the inside and crackling all over!
The quality of our great tasting pork is a result of our unique farming methods used to rear our pigs where they feed on 31 different varieties of grasses, herbs and clovers. They are also bred for flavour rather than size – achieving the best-tasting food without compromise.

no fat no taste

I was very disappointed to see how lean this organic pork was. Fat means flavour, but even the little there was had been stripped from the sides of the joint. I assume this is done for health reasons but rendering a leg of pork tasteless is bad for our health because it promotes our culture of not caring about good food and good cooking. People who buy lean leg of pork are the same people who stuff themselves with transfats , are as fat as margarine and claim they eat like birds

Disappointed

Very fatty joint. Have bought Laverstoke products before and always enjoyed them but this joint was disappointing.

Needs a bit of preparation

Have now had this joint twice, and agree that the presentation is very messy - wet and poorly tied. However, once I re-tied the joint and dried it off, the meat was tasty and the crackling crackled fine. Will buy again especially on offer.
