Tasty
Made an excellent soup using chicken stock
Delish!
First time ordered and the Butternut Squash was creamy, sweet and had a really wholesome flavour. Chopped in to cubes, alongside carrot and a couple of spuds; coated in olive oil, salt, pepper, sprinkle of curry powder, cumin powder and paprika plus roasted onion, shallot and garlic 200 degrees for 40 mins, blitz in to the blender et voila, the most scrumptious soup to warm your cockles :)
very good
I bake it in the oven for my son and he loves it
Quality has delined, rancid smell.
I love butternut squash and it is a regular purchase but lately I've seen a real decline in the quality. The last two were awful, one arrived woth pale patches all over it, soft spots and dents and another looked ok-ish so i didn't ask for a refund but upon opening it, my nose was met with a rancid sour bitter smell. Had it not been for my nose, I'd have cooked it and potentially we'd have all become ill with toxic squash syndrome due to the presence of high levels of cucurbit which is very poisonous. The bitter/ sour smell is a key indication of the presence of high level cucurbit. Thank goodness for my nose, not so great for those who cannot smell.
size varies greatly
I purchased two of these and they arrived with quite a noticeable size difference. One of them was 200g smaller than the other!
very good
This is a staple in our weekly shop. So versatile and delicious, particularly when roasted.
