great addition to soups, casseroles, risottos
I use this a lot. It is salty so I just use a bit less than suggested. Good flavour
Yeast free
I bought this as it's yeast free which is hard to find. It doesn't have the depth of flavour of some of the other stocks but this is decent and does the job
Changed recipe
I have been using the vegetarian version of this product for a very long time. Sadly this new version is nowhere near as good and, more worryingly, now contains garlic which my elderly father is seriously allergic to. Because I've been using it for so long I never thought to check.
Changed recipe but passable..just.
Weve used this for years but always bought the vegetarian version. Had to buy the vegan version recently and its definitely different. Doesnt smell that great and as with a lot of vegan food there is a lot of synthetic food substitutes. I wrote to Marigold to ask if they had stopped making the veggie version and sadly they have so only vegan from now on. Will probably look around for another vegetarian make.
So salty! Has the recipe changed?
I have been using this for years, but my latest tub is noticeably saltier than ever before. Using a normal amount made a vegetable soup inedible and even a cautious half teaspoon in my casserole was enough for the family to comment. I hate waste, but its going in the bin.
My go-to
I use this so often when cooking and, as I'm using the slow cooker frequently at the moment, a larger tub is just what's required. It is a store cupboard staple in our house as it is enhances so many meals. I've sucessfully added it to beef, lamb ,venison, pork and chicken and other savoury dishes.
