Prepare & Use

Cooking Instructions:
Oven Bake: Preheat oven. Wash the potatoes well. Dry and prick the skin with a fork. Place directly onto an oven shelf and bake for 1-1½ hours or until the skin is crisp and the flesh tender.
Oven Roast: Preheat oven. Peel and wash, then cut the potatoes into even-sized pieces. Part boil for 10 minutes. Drain then shake the pan to roughen the surfaces of the potatoes. Heat 4 tbsp of vegetable oil in a roasting tin. Add the potatoes and turn in the hot oil. Bake on the top shelf of the oven for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Turn occasionally.
Fry: Peel and cut into chips. Wash and dry thoroughly. Fry in preheated oil at 190°C for 5-6 minutes. To mash. Peel and cut the potatoes into even sized pieces. Place in a pan with just enough water to cover, add salt if desired and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until tender. Drain well and mash with a little butter and milk, or some crème fraiche together with some freshly ground pepper

18 April 2014

Poor

Apart from a few weeks after the main crop was harvested, when the quality was good, these have gone, and are continuing to go, downhill. The main problem is that they are wet and soggy - you can see the translucent veins of moisture in the flesh. The result is you end up with soggy potatoes, whether mash, chips or roast.

Very disappointing

Ordered these a few days ago, will never order again. About a third of every potato was marbled black inside and had to be thrown away - not a single good one in the bag!

Lot of waste

These have suddenly become poor quality with black areas inside, although the outside looks ok. You have to cut out so much that it creates a lot of waste. I will not be buying them again.

Terrible

These are awful. Most of them turn grey or even black when cooked and they have a greasy kind of texture. Horrible. Will never buy again.

not good value

requested Charlotte but substituted with these, not appropriate substitute as diff sort of potatoes. These fell apart even roasting, and tasteless, a few rotting in bag. If you are just going to mash okay but otherwise leave.
