Prepare & Use

Cooking guidelines.
Mmm...chips. The following cooking instructions are for 500g of McCain Oven Chips. For smaller quantities reduce the cooking time accordingly. For best results cook from frozen. Do not overcook!
Oven.
Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7. For fan assisted ovens that's 200°C/400°F.
Spread your Oven Chips evenly in a single layer on a baking tray and pop into the top of the oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning them every now and again until they're lovely, crisp and golden.
Grill.
Remove the rack from the grill pan. Preheat the grill for five minutes at a medium high heat. Spread your Oven Chips evenly in a single layer on to the grill pan. Grill for 12-15 minutes, turning every now and again until they're lovely, crisp and golden

Worst chips I've ever had

The title says it all. Tasted sour and flat, terrible texture. McCains normal fries are great though.

Great!

These are low fat and great if you fancy chips without all the cals - go great with a nice balsamic vinegar - so don't buy if you want real chips and pull out of the oven before they dry out!

Horrid texture

I thought these chips were really dry. The flavour is ok but the texture is awful. My two year old son nearly choked as the lack of moisture made them stick in his throat. Sorry McCain - Never again.

Thin and lacking flavour

I bought these as an alternative to my usual chips and found that they thin fries rather than "proper" chips, don't taste of very much either but filled a gap on my plate.

I've never been a fan of McCain chips - tasteless and cheap. My children don't like them either.
