Product Description
Mont Gras Carmenere Reserva Chile
Founded in the early 1990s, the MontGras Estate is the result of a shared dream to create a new definition for quality Chilean winemaking. Handpicked grapes and a judicious selection from specific vineyard Blocks lie at the core of the MontGras Reserva wines. Introduced from France in the 1800s, Carmenère has developed a unique personality in Chile, which is today the only significant source of this uncommon varietal grape. The MontGras vineyards, located in the Colchagua Valley, are in the heart of the Chilean wine country. The climate is typically Mediterranean, favouring the production of rich concentrated red wines. Deep purple, this Reserva Carmenère's powerful spicy aromas mingle with mint and wild herbs. On the palate soft and round tannins combine with subtle vanilla and toasty flavours.

Powerful spicy flavours
Good to see this back in stock. It has an unusually purple colour, which stains your mouth quite dramatically. The aroma takes a little effort to come alive with blackberry, dark chocolate and mint. Powerful spicy flavours, with plenty of fruit to back it up and some toasty vanilla oak.

Excellent value for money
This really is a lovely red. I'd easy pay up to 13 quid for this bottle of heaven!

Great big wine for a low price
Really rich and vanilla nose. Almost syrupy consistancy but despite all the 'heavy' adjectives it easy drinking with or without food. Worth it even when not on special.

No more thanks
Feel like I drank a different wine to the other reviewers - strong oak and vanilla flavours tasted cloying and horribly synthetic. We couldn't finish it and that is rare in our house!
