Product Description
The Ratte potato is small with a uniquely nutty flavour. It is an old French variety of potato and has for many generations been the favourite potato of chefs searching for quality. We source the "Fine" variety which is smaller and more delicate. The flesh is waxy, smooth and buttery. Due it its waxy consistency, it holds its shape when being boiled or roasted, and is a perfect accompaniment to any fish or meat. It makes the finest mashed potato known to man.

Good and bad
The potatoes are delicious but both times that I have bought them they have already been sprouting and have needed surgery before we could eat them
Thank you for your review. The absence of chemicals gives Natooras fine de ratte potatoes their nutty flavour, but it also mean they sometimes can have a few sprouts. While soft or wrinkled potatoes are not safe to eat, a few sprouts actually prove that the potato is still alive and has not been stored with chemicals. A bit of extra work before cooking, but hopefully you were well rewarded by the flavour.

expensive mistake
these were not a good choice of potato, at ?3.99 for 500g they were expensive for very poor quality. I had to cut away loads of bruising leaving very little potato to cook have asked for a refund and wont buy again

an expensive waste of time
Had high hopes, but these were tasteless, had a horrible texture and full of bruising and "burrowings" so much so that I had to cut away a lot of the potato. Hate to be so down on a product, but even if these had been half the price, I wouldn't buy again.

Worth the money
Whilst not the cheapest of potatoes, their flavour is excellent, and contrary to other reviewers I had no problems with sprouting, plus they lasted long past their official use-by-date.
