"Bresaola is beef fillet which is first salted and seasoned with a mix of spices, cured then washed and finally air-dried. Bresaola is a speciality of the Valtellina region, and purists would argue it is best on its own with a little extra virgin olive oil and freshly ground white or black pepper. It is incredibly versatile as it can handle stronger flavours and condiments than Parma ham.
Our artisanal bresaola is deeper in colour than any industrial version - many of which use frozen beef - and it is lightly marbelled with fat, a sign of quality and craftsmanship. The Pernigotti family produce everything with reverence to traditional methods whilst using modern technology. Its flavour is more complex and satisfying, just like it should be."

Prepare & Use
Try it simply dressed with oil, lemon, freshly ground white or black pepper and parmesan shavings. You can also add rocket, or even better shaved raw artichokes. For something more adventurous you can try serving it with fresh charentais melon and a dressing made with lavender honey, lemon and extra virgin olive oil and pepper

Would have been great but...
Based on reviews below I was really looking forward to this however a day after delivery and two days before use by date the meat was off. Will try again and eat same day to be on the safe side and not waste money but hope in the mean time ocado can improve delivery and packaging to keep deli items a little more fresh.

Delicious
Just as bresola should be. Cut thinly, beautifully and well packaged. I could eat the whole packet for lunch and wish I had bought double the amount! Please don't stop selling this!

Bought 2 packs on offer and it hasn't even lasted 24 hours in the house as it has been immediately scoffed! (As with other reviewers we had bought it before and left it to the use by date and it wasn't great and was sadly wasted so this time around we ate it straight from the pack!) Fantastic, thinly sliced flavoursome and authentic. The best I've had in the UK.
