FLAVOUR
IS A FRONTIER Natoora Sardinian Camone Winter Tomatoes - Some tomatoes can only reach their full potential during the cooler months when growers can exert higher levels of water-stress on their plants which would be impossible in hot, dry seasons. - We have grouped these varieties together, creating a radical new category of seasonality: Winter Tomatoes - Camone is one of these varieties, sourced from minimum intervention growers in Sardinia, it exhibits all the characteristics we look for in a Winter Tomato: taut skin and firm flesh with a balance of bright acidity and the distinct umami sweetness of slow-grown fruit. - Free draining sandy coastal soil and the increased salinity of the environment create further stress on the plants, which the growers expertly manage, keeping their plants on the edge of survival. - In season only from the end of December to early May, this flavour profile cannot be replicated at any other time of year. Take it further - Cut into wedges, drizzled with sea salt and extra virgin olive oil. - Roughly chopped, cooked slowly with olive oil. Toss through penne. Our packaging is plastic-free - We have developed our own revolutionary packaging which is entirely plastic-free and home disposable. Each of our recyclable cardboard punnets is flow-wrapped with home-compostable film which, unlike traditional plastic flow-wrap, disintegrates within 180 days. Dispose of the black punnet in your normal recycling and the clear film in your food waste bin. - Each punnet bears the ‘Plastic Free’ mark of A Plastic Planet, a grassroots movement which aims to turn off the plastic tap. Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food - We are revolutionising the food system. - We work direct with growers who value flavour, biodiversity and heritage over yield. - We give them the support they need to build a better future for food, rooted in small scale, sustainable agriculture that gives back to our planet. |

Disappointed
Have bought these several times but very disappointed with this lot. Beware.
lovely
Firm and very tasty
unripe
I thought these were worth a try but the ones I received were very unripe. I think they are supposed to look slightly dark green, as in the photo, but these were green all over, hard and unripe, with only 1 tomato out of 8 having any red on it.
Disappointing
The tomatoes were fully red, overripe, flavourless and had tough skins. A this price I expect better. I might as well have bought normal tomatoes, but I suppose that in the current shortages they were tomatoes and they were in my kitchen, so I ought to appreciate them even though they were very disappointing.
Some green, some mixed
I love green tomatoes so these were perfect for me. If you read the info, you'll see they aren't meant to be red and ripe like tomatoes in summer are. I made an amazing salsa out of them
Great
Just arrived and I made a lovely tomato salad using half the packet. Fresh, juicy tomatoes, although the rest will need to sit on my window sill for a couple of days to ripen properly. Great flavour though.
