Wild Salmon derive their colour from the natural krill and crustacea that they eat. The meat colour can vary from a pale pink to a deep red depending on what the fish have been eating and the river system they are returning to.

Keep refrigerated
For maximum freshness - store at less than 5ºC and consume within 24 hours.
Freezable.
If freezing, freeze on day of purchase and consume within 1 month.
Defrost thoroughly and use within 24 hours. Once thawed do not re-freeze. This product has been previously frozen and defrosted under controlled conditions and is therefore suitable for home freezing.
Prepare & Use
Cooking Instructions:
This product is raw fish and must be cooked according to the cooking instructions.
Remove all packaging.
Shallow Fry: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Add the fillets skin side down and fry over a moderate heat for 13-14 minutes, turning occasionally.
Grill: Preheat grill on high. Place salmon fillets on a baking tray and grill on high for 10-12 minutes.
As the natural thickness and size of the fish and the performance of cooking appliances may vary, these are guidelines only. Select appropriate times for your oven. For different power ovens adjust heating time accordingly. Always check that the product is piping hot before serving

Not nice at all...
I recently bought these on the 3 for £10 and have ended up giving them to a neighbours cat...! Exactly what it tasted like, cat food. The fish was tough and generally yuck. Not what I would have expected from Ocado.

Is it that hard to de-scale a fish?
Whilst I appreciate that few people actually eat the skin of a fish, maybe just maybe, more people would if food suppliers actually thought about what they're doing! Having gone to the effort of gutting, cleaning and portioning the fish - is de-scaling it no longer a skill? The taste is obviously not a good as a "fresh" salmon but do like the fact that it's not pumped full of chemicals to make it glow pink like other supermarket salmon. Thankfully I can descale a fish but having paid nearly £4 for 2 small pieces, the addition of scales is definitely unwelcomed!

Tiny. Could possibly be a goldfish fillet!
Absolutely terrible product. This is where online shopping falls down because nobody would pick these off a shelf. Possibly the smallest salmon fillet Ive seen. Both fillets together are possibly an average portion for one.They dont even taste or look great.

Not ocado standard
I was also really disappointed with the quality of the fish, it was obviously frozen to extend its shelf life which left the tiny two pieces of fish tasteless and dry. I have bought 3 pack meat deals from a much less prestigious supermarket chain for 10 pounds and the quality of the salmon has been much better! We have been impressed with the products that ocado sells up until now, however this one was of an extremely low standard.
