Product Description

Ocado Artisan Baguette.

This baguette is made using a 50% biga. The biga (flour, water and yeast) is mixed into a dough and then fermented for 16 hours. This is then added to the main dough and mixed again. After further resting the dough is gently cut into a baguette shape. The result is a classic bread with an open texture, slightly acidic flavour, and a thin crisp crust.

Great as it comes or as a meal accompaniment.

For best results refresh in the oven for five to seven minutes at 200ºC to recreate that classic fresh baguette taste and smell.

Our bread is made with British flour.

Store in a cool, dry place.
Once opened, store in an airtight container.

Freeze on or before Best Before date.

Might improve if toasted as very little flavour and hard work to eat.

I think it's really nice!

If you want a crusty baguette, don't buy this, but if you want something that looks like a baguette but tastes like a lovely tasty bread, then you can't go wrong. It's gorgeous in my opinion!

Brilliant but must be toasted

Firstly, this isn't a baguette as I would have expected when I ordered it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The plan was always for it to be toasted and it was delicious. Not sure I would have eaten it without toasting it.

As just a long loaf of sandwich bread, this is fair, but it's in nk way a baguette. Neither a crisp crust nor a chewy centre are present. Far too heavy and smooshy.
