Lovely halloumi

As a life long vegetarian halloumi features pretty consistently in my diet and there are no complaints with this one. For those saying it's too salty I don't know what you expect of halloumi, I'd suggest running it under the tap before you cook it to remove some of the salt on the outside. I had one pack that was totally dry and inedible but that was once out of a lot of times buying this product so I put it down to fluke and it has been consistently good since.

decent enough but on a silly offer

decent enough halloumi but the current offer of £2 or 2 for £4 is insulting enough to ensure that I only buy one even if I wanted two

Excellent value

Grated this on top of a vegetable moussaka and it was delicious. Very good value and will definitely buy again.

Had to throw this away - far too salty

I thought this was far saltier than other brands I have used. When lightly grilled it became so salty that it really was uneatable even for a hungry, thrifty family. One of my very few food items to hit the bin.

Chargrilled halloumi, aubergine and courgettes with tomato vinaigrette

Halloumi is a really fun cheese to have as part of your diet, as you can cook or BBQ it and this is a good dish for any vegetarians too. The chargrilled veggies add to your 5 a day and the tomato dressing is fresh and summery. By Sophie Michell
