Product Description

Ocado Jersey Royal Baby New Potatoes.

Ocado Jersey Royals are selected from the finest Jersey soils.

However the process of planting and harvesting is unique within the fresh produce world and continues over 100 years of tradition.

When it comes to growing, the Jersey Royal crop is unique. Each seed potato is carefully planted by hand, over 1,800 hectares, by a team of 350 expert staff. Although a small island, parts of the Jersey terrain are steep and rocky – making both planting and harvesting extremely dangerous. These slopes are known as côtil’s and are only accessible by winches.

The potatoes themselves are fertilized naturally by the seaweed that washes up onto the islands beaches. Due to ancient laws, this can only be collected Monday to Saturday.

Ocado’s Royals are only picked when they reach their very best – ensuring the fresh taste is available for everyone to appreciate.

Not Good At All

I have to agree with all the previous reviews - and should have heeded them! - they were covered in sort of soft bad patches, which to be honest you couldn't really see until preparing them. I had to cut away HALF of them to make a meal

When I opened the bag, half were rotten and had to be chucked away. Rubbish.

Wont buy these again.

Bought these for a family dinner Im doing at the weekend. Checked them when I unpacked my shopping and noticed quite a few had bad patches on them, they dont even look like Jersey potatoes. Dread to think what they will taste like! Expect I will end up buying some more as I dont want to spoil our get together.

Horrid chemically taste!

I ordered these a couple of weeks ago and whilst some of the individual potatoes tasted creamy and waxy - just as you would expect - some of them tasted absolutely disgusting - they had a very strong chemical taste that left an unpleasant after-taste. I wont buy again and threw the second free bag away.

Absolutely dreadful

Looked OK from the outside but tasted a small one and it was absolutely VILE. I cut another in half was found to be bad or contaminated. Others were the same. Apologies but this was the worst product I've ever had from Ocado and you are usually very good.
