This Classic English bread is made using the traditional 'sponge and dough' method. A fermented dough is added back to the main dough to produce a good flavour and a crisp crust. Great for doorstep sandwiches, toast or on its own with jam and butter.

Okay, but contains Palm Oil
It's not a bad bloomer. Soft inside and keeps well. The crust is quite soft, so if you like a crunch maybe this isn't for you. I would have purchased this again, but found it had Palm Oil in, so I won't buy it again.

Keeps Well
As suggested on the bag, this loaf needs to be baked for 5 minutes or more. Prefered the taste to other similar loaves, though texture was a little too moist. Can solve this by toasting. Loaf kept very well.

Used to be good
We regularly buy this loaf but the last 2 times it has been dense and undercooked, as if the yeast hasn't worked properly.
