Ocado Ripe & Ready Crownless Pineapple.

Our sweet and juicy pineapples are always harvested when they are ripe and ready to eat, so you can enjoy 80g of pineapple as 1 of your 5 a day in your breakfast, dessert or, as a healthy snack on the go.

You'll notice that they arrive without the green leaves on top which is known as a 'crownless' pineapple.

This provides two fantastic benefits:
1. Removing the crowns means the leaves are used as seed material to grow more pineapples or are added to cattle feed.
2. They take up 25% less space when travelling from their home to yours, meaning more pineapples in fewer vehicles.

Did you know?
It's a myth that you can test the ripeness of a pineapple by pulling out its leaves or by the colour of the shell. So there's no need to worry about the missing crown as these pineapples are already ripe and ready to eat when they arrive on your doorstep.
