um....

Reviewer said disappointed after cooking them for 2 hours. TWO HOURS??? Dear God. They are peas. not even a small chicken would take 2 hours to cook! Lovely to have fresh peas in season, buy from UK please Waitrose!

Disappointed

As previous reviewer stated are were from Kenya and I expected them to be from the UK at this time of year. They were the largest peas I have ever seen and took almost 2 hours to cook. Will not purchase again unless evidence that it is grown in this country.

Not British and poor taste

Ordered this in July expecting locally grown produce but instead got peas grown in Kenya. Peas were also soft and tasteless. Very disappointing

Good taste and save time

These are a good compromise - more pea-like than frozen, but not the faff of shelling them.

Fresh and Tasty

I adore fresh peas and tend to eat them raw as a snack or in salads. These peas may not be the small, sweet 'petit pois' but they are still lovely fresh, flavoursome peas and far superior to any that come out of a tin.

And don't stop at cats - why not try making other faces, using different vegetables or coloured cheeses to make the features? Or you could cut the bread into different shapes, such as stars. Feta and Pea Salad with Watercress Mayonnaise

Feta and Pea Salad with Watercress Mayonnaise

Cook's Note If it’s not the season for fresh peas, frozen ones make an ideal substitute. Leave them to defrost in a bowl, then pour over boiling water and leave for about 5 minutes. Drain and refresh with fresh cold water. Variation You could use a good-quality fresh ricotta instead of the feta; if you do, omit the mayonnaise mixture.
