Only giving one star as it won't let me give zero!
Worst leeks ever. Green almost all the way to the roots and filled with grit and soil. Just badly dibbed - no excuse for it. They shouldn't be selling a product this bad.

reduce cholesterol and avoid cancer
Amongst other benefits, leeks are said to reduce bad cholesterol and the risk of some cancers. I chopped these leeks and added them to boiling potatoes. Once cooked, i strained them and mashed them up roughly. I added chopped spring onions, chopped garlic, lemon (to taste) and olive oil (to taste). Delicious and healthy! Also a good way to get kids to eat some good veg. You can also add parsley or omit some ingredients - whatever is in your fridge! Nice with meat, fish, prawns or even large grilled mushrooms! Enjoy!
