Waitrose Pure Canadian Maple Syrup is collected from the Beauce an area in South-East Quebec province, centred on the Chaudière River where there is a naturally large concentration of sugar maple trees. Collected in just a few weeks in spring, produced simply by evaporation, it takes 40 litres of sap to create 1 litre of pure maple syrup. Canadian organic No 1 medium is outstanding as a delicious topping for pancakes, waffles or ice cream and is equally a versatile cooking ingredient for both sweet and savoury dishes.

Okay syrup, horrible bottle.
The syrup taste is normally good as the other syrup I have tasted but I hate the bottle. If I hadn't used Buckwud syrup already, I might not have minded it. But I have and I do. This bottle is your normal glass bottle and every time I use syrup it spills a few drops over the bottle's mouth and it's a mess. Try doing that 7 times during breakfast and your hands are all sticky. Buckwud had a plastic cap over the bottle mouth which resulted in zero spills. I was surprised how effective that was. After using that this is unacceptable. I am NEVER going to buy this again and never going to recommend this to anyone.

I have tried other brands, but so far, Waitrose wins. Shame its so expensive.

Great Maple Syrup, but non-functional bottle
I don't mind that it's expensive. It's organic, and it is delicious. But I agree with other reviewers --- the bottle is really hopeless. Drips every time, and you can't pour out a thin stream. I am considering decanting into a better bottle, each time I buy it, but what a pain! Still ... it is delicious, and great on porridge.
