Great value

These olives are excellent value and great for cooking and for making tapenade and other relishes. The white film that sometimes forms on the surface of the brine is not mould and is harmless so don't throw them out. If it worries you you can freeze olives quite successfully. And yes this is a big jar, I'm not sure why some reviewers are surprised by this, it clearly says 935g -nearly a kilo.

Good price Good taste

We use olives every day and this package is a great deal. Good taste. Good price. Good size.

not bad at all

We get through a lot of olives (pizzas, puttanesca, quesadillas) and these aren't bad at all. Not first choice for a nibble and cold beer, but fine for cooking.

Mould develops once opened

This jar is far too big to eat all the olives in one go and they do not keep once opened, develping a white mould after a few days. The jar is now a false economy, better to buy as you need them. The previous waitrose jar was smaller and the olives kept for ages in the fridge.

huge jar

I was surprised by the size of the jar and struggled to eat them. They looked great but literally had no flavour, so I threw them on salads, pizza...anything. I even made olive bread. The best olives I think are ones from the deli in oil, rather than brine.
