Buckwheat Crepes from Brittany

Buckwheat flour mixed with water and sea salt produces nourishing crepes which can be filled with egg, cheese and salami to create a filling and delicious meal.

Preparation and Usage

Reheat the crepe in a frying pan with some butter and garnish to your preference.

Instructions

Melt several knobs of butter in a large pan, lay your crepe out flat without folding. Garnish only one half of the crepe with your choice of either ham, grated cheese, an egg, mushrooms, diced bacon, tomatoes etc. Cover over your ingredients with the other half of the crepe and leave to cook over a gentle heat turning only once. It's ready! Be inventive - the recipes are endless

Too thin

These tasted nice but were so thin that they fell apart when I tried to remove them from the packaging. I followed the instructions on heating etc., but they were too thin to cope with a filling and it all just ended up a messy pile on my plate. I ate them and they tasted good with garlic mushrooms and Emmental cheese, but I wouldnt bother with them again.

Easy weekday dinner

Great for a quick and easy weekday dinner. I love have them as galettes complètes with tomato, ham, mushrooms, cheese and egg. Shame its so hard to buy them, hardly ever in stock

Please bring them back!

I miss these, please bring them back! They're healthy and delicious and it's so easy to make a quick and filling lunch or dinner with these. Just top with grated Gruyère or Comté, some ham or lardons, and cook one egg in the middle, folding in the edges. Also good with sauteed mushrooms.

Please bring it back!! We all love it in the house. I'm from Brittany and these galettes are so good with ham, cheese and egg or anything you like
