Product Description
Guerande Coarse Sea Salt, No Addictives, Hand Mixed.
It was between 854 and 859 that the monks from St. Saveur de Redon were donated several salines on the peninsula of Batz. These salines were mined by the salt workers and weren’t going to change as a result. Sea water enters the salterns at high tide. It progresses slowly then gradually settles producing a concentration of salt which continues under the sun and wind until saturation point and until the sodium chloride forms crystals. The salt worker then collects the grey coarse salt by scraping with a type of wooden rake. The salt is then dripped dry firstly in the fresh air and then finely ground down in the salt granaries.

Excellent flavour, salt mill problems though.
This is the best flavoured salt I have ever tasted, and I am generous with its use because it is not processed and retains its healthy balance - google for info, but it is not very good in a salt mill unless the atmosphere is bone dry - wiping the grinder helps.

Very nice but useless in a standard salt mill
We like the taste of this salt, unfortunately it just does not grind in a salt mill, even though it claims to be 'course' salt.

Best salt ever
I have always had to go to Brittany to buy this - not an awful thing in itself! - but how brilliant to buy it from Ocado and have it delivered to my door.....
