Corsican cooked meats had a strong reputation during the Genovese times. Even though the civil servants of the Empire were recording/listing all the exports of meats such as lonzu, coppa and other cooked meats such as prizuttu already back in the 19th century, consumption of Figatelli sausages generally remained local.

This really is a fantastic pate - really tasty - a bit like smoky bacon. Very moreish.
