These shortbread rounds are ring-shaped biscuits flavoured with aniseed and originated in Spain. In the 19th century a Catalonian baker had the audacity to replace aniseed with lemon and cover the biscuit in sugar and this is how the modern biscuit was created.

Finally rousquilles in the UK
I love these biscuits and always buy them on my rare visits to the South of France. I'm so happy I can now find them in the UK thanks to Ocado.

Dry and uninteresting
Having read the other reviews, I had high expectations. But it just shows that people have very different tastes. I find these very dry, boring and very over-priced like most stuff in the Reflets de France range.

Nom nom nom
The box never makes it to the cupboard - I scoff the lot in one go. These are like eating clouds - the delicate, powdery white icing is like angel dust, covering something nommy and crumbly which is half biscuit/half cake. Definitely not shortbread, as per the description, and definitely not dry, as per another review. God, I love them! PS Just noticed the description mentions aniseed - I've never noticed that, so don't let it put you off

Nice flavour yet very dry
I found these had a pleasant almondy flavour not too unlike French Fancies! but were very dry indeed. You really do need a drink to go with them, as they are so dry. Disappointing.
