Reflets de France White Beans with Bacon A L'Ancien 85cl
Product Description
Traditionally Cooked White Beans from Vendée.
These soft white beans date back to the 16th Century in South America when the sailors offered it to Pope Clement VII. The monks who were put in charge of looking into optimal conditions for acclimatisation soon discovered that the Marais Poitevin had the best environment for growing them. Carefully sorted, the beans are soaked, drained, rinsed then blanched and sorted again. They are the perfect accompaniment to Cured ham from the Vendée region.

Tasty
These are really tasty. They are fine to eat cold with some salad or bread and are good heated up with spinach and bacon. Be careful not to boil though, or they will turn mushy.

not great
not a great purchase at all. I will not buy them again as they have a strange taste.

Lovely served with roast lamb
These are NOT baked beans, they have a soft texture and need to be reheated slowly and carefully and are best served with roast meats.

Okay
These beans had a nice taste, but they were far too mushy and soft. We would not buy again as we would prefer a firmer texture.

Very tasty
A good cupboard standby. Reheat gently. Nice with meat or by themselves.
