Strength: 4 (Medium/Strong)
Dark full bodied with a rich aroma and chocolatey flavour.
The wonderful flavour and aroma of coffee is affected by contact with air. This pack is fitted with a special one way valve to allow the coffee to be packed directly after roasting to protect the coffee and maintain its freshness.

Once opened, reseal using the recloseable tab on the pack. To prolong its freshness store in a cool place, refrigerator or deep freeze and use within 2 weeks.
Prepare & Use
Grind the coffee beans to suit the equipment being used:
- Medium Ground: cafetiéres, percolators, conas and jugs.
- Fine Ground: filter machine, filter cones.
- Very Fine Ground: espresso machine, stove top espresso pot.
Only grind the required amount of coffee for immediate use.
We recommend 1 rounded dessertspoonful of ground coffee per cup for normal strength coffee.
This may be adjusted according to taste. To enjoy the coffee's full flavour do not stand, but serve soon after preparation

Disappointing.
Completely agree with Fiona. These beans used to be good quality for supermarket beans however they're now roasted much darker leading to a very bitter, unpleasant cup. I'm not sure why they changed this as people could order the french style beans if they wanted a darker roast.

Disappointed by changes...
I have been buying this product for many years and have noticed in the last few months the packaging has changed along with the strength rating from 4 to 5 on the packaging despite what it says here. The new product is a much more bitter coffee which I dont enjoy at all and am know searching for an alternative. From someone elses comments on the Columbian blend they have a similar issue with a formerly great coffee blend.

Very disappointing
I bought this as an economic alternative to Taylor's of Harrowgate's Rich Italian Coffee Beans. It was a credit crunch mistake. The coffee is not as flavoursome, and left an expected bitter/burnt after taste.

A classy cocktail with a rich smooth flavour, frothy finish and coffee kick. An espresso is simply concentrated coffee. As it's often thicker than coffee it's the perfect consistency for cocktails like this one.

decently strong coffee
used in a bean to cup krups espresso machine this makes a strong coffee with no hint of the bitter aftertaste described by other reviewers. Great for lattes etc but lacks the depth of crema required for authentic espresso experience.
