Product Description
Sancerre is made in partnership with Joseph Mellot in the village of Sancerre in the Central Vineyards of the Loire Valley. They have blended grapes from their own vineyards and from other parcels planted on different soils in the Sancerre appellation to add an extra dimension to this wine.
Classic Sauvignon, with pure, intense flavours of gooseberries and a hint of apricot, mineral and floral notes and lovely zesty acidity. Its flinty elegance balances the weighty, ripe fruit to give a deliciously complex wine.

A weighty wine - excellent flavour
An excellent wine, particularly good value when it was on special offer at £9.99 before Christmas.

not smooth
not what I expected; I'm no expert, but this one has all the Sancerre flavours, but it's too brutal, and its not cheap.

Decent Sauvignon, poor Sancerre
It you served me this and told me it was from Chile, I would believe you. That's not to say it's bad - Chilean Sauvignon can be pretty good, but you might as well save yourself a few quid and buy an actual Chilean wine. Colour is an attractive pale gold with a slight green tinge, but not quite completely clear, which is probably a fining fault. Aroma of nettles and elderflower is pleasant but a bit too subtle. Taste is fruity with lots of elderflower and not enough Sancerre elegance.
