gloopy porridge

I bought 3 packs on special offer! The first time I'd got any for a while as colder mornings set in. I'd forgotten I prefer jumbo oats - these make smooth porridge with a gloopy texture. I do soak the oats overnight, a method which might add to the problems with the texture. I guess its a matter of taste, but I struggled through half a pack, before I gave up & replaced with jumbo oats - I'll pass these on to a friend whose children seem to like smooth porridge I think that's because that's what they always get and they haven't tasted proper porridge

Great Porridge!

This makes lovely creamy porridge. I make it in the microwave and eat it with fresh fruit (eg: raspberries, blueberries or banana). It's a great kickstart to the day!

Raspberry and Honey Cranachan

Cranachan is a traditional Scottish pudding, a sublime mixture of toasted oats, honey, cream, fruit and whisky. Beautifully simple and quick to make, it’s ripe for a bit of seasonal variation. I love a classic raspberry version in the summer, laced with some pungent heather honey.
