Storage
Keep Frozen. Freeze in a four star food freezer or a three star frozen food compartment, which should be -18°C or colder. In a 2 star frozen food compartment use within one month. In a 1 star frozen food compartment use within one week. Do not refreeze after defrosting but keep cool and use within 24 hours.
Prepare & Use
Defrosting instructions:
Preheat oven. Remove all packaging. Place on a baking tray, to prevent burning use upturned foil tray to cover tarte. Place in the centre of oven. Remove from oven after heating and allow to stand for 20 minutes before serving. Product can be defrosted in a refrigerator however pastry is crisp when defrosted in oven. Once defrosted place in a refrigerator and consume within 24 hours.

great to have in the freezer
Everyone needs something good in the freezer....just in case. You can just let it defrost and eat it then. However I like it cooked....just 30 minutes in the oven crisps up the pastry even if you choose to eat it later when it has cooled.

expected more, quite bland
Thought it'd be something more interesting and flavoursome from the Waitrose 'posh' range. It needs 30 min baking in the oven at 200C, plus 20 min to stand before you eat. It advertises itself as having a frangipane filling, meaning the filling's base is ground almonds, and it has the whole 8!% ground almonds, the rest being flour, milk whey, thickeners etc. The pastry was nice, but I found the wasn't enough filling and boiled pieces of pears surrounded by the creamy mixture didn't taste of anything really.

Scrummy when hot with ice cream and even better the next day when cold with a nice cup of coffee. We're addicted to them!

Wow!
This is an exceptionally good tarte. Lovely buttery pastry crust, nice moist frangipane, just lovely!
