I should have read the description
When I see a sauce named szechuan pepper I expect it to be spicy - and unfortunately I didnt spot the word mild in the description. This was pleasant enough, but very sweet and not at all spicy - so disappointing. Not really what I was looking for at all.

Sorry Waitrose has to be said! its not fragrant and my vegetables would have tasted better with nothing!

sweet, not spicy
It's sweet and gelatinous rather than peppery or spicy. Just tastes gooey.

Bland
I tried this but it has none of the bite you'd expect.Far inferior to Blue Dragon. I know some people don't like really spicy food but this was almost tasteless

The best Stir Fry Sauce!
This stir fry sauce is my favourite out of all Waitrose stir fry sauces, I've tried them all. In fact my girlfriend and I prefer this one to any other supermarket or brand. It tastes fresh, the Szechaun spice is really nice and flavoursome. These type of sauces are to just add that extra flavour to your veg and noodles, this sauce makes your stir fry change from bland to tasty in 1 minute. If we have tofu or chicken then we buy an extra sauce for that, as we do with all the stir fry sauces we buy.
