Good quality, cost effective
Have used this for several years after switching over from a more expensive brand. Lovely rich vanilla flavour, no alcohol whiff as with some. A good buy.

A good vanilla extract
This is a very good substitute when the most popular brand is unavailable. Neither my friends nor I can tell the difference when this product is used in baking.

The worst vanilla ingredient I've tried
The alcohol base used is the main flavour that comes through and the product tastes bitter. I tried it in various dishes and had to throw each one in the bin as the prevailing flavour notes was bitter alcohol and very little vanilla. Very disappointing. I've had better results with cheap synthetic vanilla flavouring - a waste of money.

Not worth the money
Having tried and liked the vanilla bean paste from Taylor & Colledge, we thought we would try their vanilla extract. We were disappointed - it has a strong, artificial flavour which is quite unpleasant. The Nielson Massey vanilla extract, although a little more expensive, is a far better buy in our opinion.
