The Whale Caller, Western Cape

In the coastal South African town of Hermanus, the Whale Caller waits on the cliffs, calling for the whales to return from the Antarctic waters.
As you savour this rich red wine, with dark berry fruit and hints of chocolate and spice, you may just catch the strains of the Whale Caller's horn, blowing on the southern wind. Great on its own or with pizza, pasta or red meat dishes.

Great Value

No contest, as this is a quality wine with great flavour. Make this your own house wine for the season and your friends will be quite happy. Fruit, tannin and acidity all good with a fine dryness that does the business.

wale caller

It's by no means the greatest Shiraz in the world, but for £4.99 it's very drinkable and tastes as good as a £10.00 bottle of Shiraz. For people who entertain a lot this is a perfect wine to break out and share with friends, without damaging the wallet.

Great wine, especially for the price!

Lovely mellow wine at a great price. It tastes as though it should cost a lot more, but thankfully it doesn't!

When I first had this wine it was nice. It is now past it's best and is now bitter / good for cooking only.
