Not for me.

I tried this because of the excellent reviews, but I didn't like it all all. It has a farmy manure kind of element to the taste, which I acually found quite unpleasant. The mouthfeel was not as smooth as I was expecting. Saltiness the same at my usual brand. Sorry, it's back to trusty Anchor for us. The whole family noticed a difference and agree with this.

The best butter available at Ocado

and I have tried them all. It is very clean tasting, doesn't leave a nasty aftertaste. The balance of salt is just right and it uses good quality salt - Rachel organic is not salty enough for me, the butters with added salt crystal are too salty. The consistency is very pleasant, thick but not sticky, and it keeps very well. A regular buy in our house.

I won't buy anything else

The taste of this butter is so delicious, that I always know if I am eating another brand. To my mind, this is by far the best butter you can buy,

Many years ago I lived at a place which had a few jersey cows, and used to make butter in a hand-churn. To me, Yeo Valley tastes like and has the consistency of proper butter. Some butters I've tried seem more like a slab of fat which has been melted and then hardened; I imagine the difference is in the processing. I do sometimes keep New Zealand butter for making pastry, as its slightly lower moisture content seems better for this.

Swedish Anchovy and Potato Gratin

Swedish Anchovy and Potato Gratin

Janssons Frestelse, or Jansson's temptation - a creamy potato and anchovy gratin - is said to have been named for Pelle Janzon, a food-loving Swedish opera singer of the early 20th century. In any case, the recipe was published for the first time in 1940, and this rich dish quickly became a classic of the Swedish Christmas dinner table. But Jansson's temptation can just as easily be eaten at any time of year. It is quite remarkable that something as simple as potatoes, onions, anchovies and cream can taste so heavenly.
