What is Amazon Echo and Alexa?
Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service. You can talk to Alexa through Echo, Amazon’s hands-free speaker.
You can now shop with Ocado through an Amazon Echo just by talking to it!
How can I get started?
Just say: “Alexa, enable Ocado”, then link your account through the Alexa app.
If you’re not near your Echo right now, you can search for Ocado in the Alexa app to link your accounts.
You only need to link your Ocado account once. After that, simply remember to say “Alexa, ask Ocado to…” to shop with Ocado.
What can I do with the Ocado Skill?
You can shop while you cook! If you run out of something – let’s say garlic – just talk to your Echo: "Alexa, ask Ocado to add garlic." There’s no need to edit or check out again: we’ll add whatever you’ve asked for to your next order automatically.

Is there anything I can’t do by voice?
We’ve designed hands-free shopping to help you add quickly to your order – so it’s great to use in the kitchen when you’ve run out of something.
At the moment, you can’t choose a delivery slot, check out, or change any account info. Instead, please use our website or app.
If I have an order placed, can I add directly to it?
Yes, of course. In fact, when you’re shopping by voice and you ask to add something, we’ll add it to the next placed order you have.
As usual, we’ll send you a confirmation email telling you exactly what’s been added to your order.
When I add something by voice, how do you choose the product?
We select products based on your Favourites. For example: when you ask for milk, if a semi-skimmed two-pinter is your Favourite, that’s what we’ll add.
If you have more than one Favourite milk, we’ll add your ‘top Favourite’ this is usually the Favourite you’ve bought the most frequently.
If you ask for something that you haven’t bought before, so you have no Favourites, we’ll add the product that’s most popular with other shoppers.
Of course, if you’re not happy with the milk that we add, simply say “Suggest another” or “Remove”.
How do I know that something has been added successfully?
You’ll hear the name and price of whatever has been added. If it isn’t the product you were after, simply say “Suggest another” or “Remove”.
If you add to a future order, you’ll also get a confirmation email. Look for the ‘Products you’ve added’ section in the email.
How can I remove something?
If Alexa misunderstands you and adds the wrong product, simply say “Suggest another” or “Remove”.
Is hands-free shopping free to use?
Of course! If you have an Amazon Echo, or any device that lets you talk to Alexa, you can shop by voice at no extra cost (but at extra convenience!)
