Regional information
Mendocino County is vast and diverse, shaped by mountainous terrain and strong Pacific influence, which prevents a single, unifying terroir despite its Mediterranean climate. The western areas are cool and fog-driven, suitable only at higher altitudes, while moving east brings warmer days tempered by evening fog through river wind gaps. The far east, largely shielded from ocean cooling, is Mendocino's warm “banana belt,” capable of ripening virtually any grape variety.

Vinification details
Grapes are destemmed, crushed, and fermented with their skins, pulp, and seeds at 27-29°C using a selected yeast strain, with four daily pump-overs to extract colour and tannins. After around seven days, the wine is pressed and fermentation completed. The wine then undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation, with 40% aged for six months in American oak, adding structure and notes of vanilla and spice.
