Brand details
Alma by Natoora Sifted Country Sourdough
Our sifted sourdough is crafted from a thoughtful blend of heritage and modern wheats, all stone-milled in-house. The flour is 70% high-extraction sifted and 30% wholemeal, meaning it retains much of the grain's natural oils and nutrients.
Recipes using sourdough bread
This sourdough doesn't need much; toasted and thickly spread with salted cultured butter it is perfection. We found it works wonderfully when sandwiched with Fior di latte mozzarella, coated in breadcrumbs and fried in a mozzarella in carozza sandwich, with a side of seasonal fresh tomatoes.
What is Alma?
Alma is the Bermondsey-based mill and bakery on a mission to restore the value of whole grain wheat. Our small team of bakers stone-mill diverse grain varieties in-house, making fresh flour that's full of flavour, character and depth. Every ingredient in our loaves is chosen with the same care, for its quality, craftsmanship and flavour.
What is Natoora?
Natoora was founded in 2004 in a bid to bring flavour, seasonality and transparency back to the way we source and eat food. Today, we work closely with responsible growers to find fruit and veg varieties chosen for flavour, many of which never make it into the mainstream food system. From seed selection to traditional growing methods, we champion the people and practices behind good produce, connecting growers with chefs and home cooks all around the world.
