I find these useful for storing baby home cooked and leftover baby food. We avoid using plastic and I believe this is made of silicone. It is easy to remove the frozen food by peeling the silicone back. I agree with the review, the lid is not absolutely secure but this is not a problem when the food is frozen. Im going to buy a couple more to cook and freeze a few batches of baby food.
These were a disappointment!
I really wanted to love these, but I just can't!! The food is reasonably hard to get out as the tray is so flexible. I end up having to try to prize it out of the tray using my fingers, which I don't think is great. I'm really surprised that someone like Annabel Karmel puts her name to these, they're awful! So glad I 'only' bought two! (and that they were on offer!) I'm now trying the vital baby press and pop pots, the design of which seem much better than these!
great size tray but lid not secure
The pods are a great size but the lid doesn't stay on at all
I have just started weaning my third child and figured it was time to retire the old weaning cube trays and buy some new ones. These trays are fantastic. They clean easily and it's no hassle getting the cubes out when frozen and transfer to freezer bags - the tray is so flexible you can get out the most stubborn ice cube without having to try and lever out the food with utensils which I was forever doing previously. The lid is great for stacking in the freezer and keeping the contents clean and sealed. The reason I like freezing cubes of food and storing in freezer bags is to avoid wastage and when my baby starts eating greater volume, I mix up different cubes for a balanced and varied meal. The frozen cubes keep for 3 months in the freezer and so I can bulk cook and then not need to for a few weeks and spend more time with the kids! The only negative is that these weren't around 6 years ago!!
good things I love it
When I bought it I was not sure that it need me, but always something buying for kids new, and was pleasantly surprised with it. I do for my little one 8 month old soup per cube 20-40 ml and put it into the freezer and every day take from there one cube of soup and my son has before main course some of it.
