Disappointed in the green glue
Love barilla pasta but this pesto was a major let down. Firstly it contains cashews and sunflower which is so untraditional to any pesto. Im actually surprised it claims to be genovese considering..... Secondly the consistency is of green glue, its claggy and horrible, not worth ruining your past to put this on. I would avoid and make your own or buy a generic one like Ocado/scala. Sunflower Seed Oil 46.1%, Basil 31%, Cashew Nuts, Natural Flavours, Grana Padano DOP Cheese 4.6%, Salt, Pecorino Romano DOP Cheese 1.2%, Sugar, Extravirgin Olive Oil 1%, Basil Extract, Garlic. Traces of: Eggs, other Shelled Fruit.
Not what I was expecting, but ok
As other reviewers have noted, this isn't like a traditional pesto. It's much creamer and more like a basil & cream pasta sauce. But I have developed a taste for it. It is a bit salty, so if you're sensitive to that maybe choose another option or use it as a flavouring.
surprisingly authentic tasting product. My girlfriend is addicted to it.
cheesy, creamy, yummy treat
Delicious thick pesto- not like the classic kind as more cheesy but very yummy
Lovely and easy to use pesto sauce.
Go for OCADO Classic Green Pesto
It's so much superior to this. Ocado is 47% basil; this one is 30% with all sorts of other stuff and way too much salt.
