Horrible!
I hesitated buying this having read some of the other reviews and sadly I have to say, it is horrible. For us there was no resemblance to the flavour of lemongrass at all. Even when you opened the jar it didnt even have a hint of the wonderful aromatic freshness lemongrass has. Just a gloop.
Bart Lemongrass.
Largely tasteless except for a rather unpleasant aftertaste. One little try and it went straight into the bi. A total waste of money.
Handy
This is very handy and certainly much easier than processing lemongrass from raw, and you don't get the chewy woody bits in your meal. Lazy - yes, but we like it.
On the fence
Its a strange one - sometimes it has little flavour and doesnt last at all. On other occasions its the opposite.
Not sure on quality control
We used to buy this all the time but the last 6 jars we have had have had issues. 2 of these had the safety pop up blown and were refunded, the other 4 seem sealed okay but are coloured pinkish for the 1st half inch of the jar and look suspect. We will not be using these with the strange pinkish colour on top as this has never been there before and looks suspect. Wewill not be buying them again, shame as they used to be lovely.
Does not last
Most ingredients of this last a good 4 weeks in the fridge provided you havent used contaminated spoons. Twice this has gone mouldy when Ive come back to it. The first time I thought maybe Id left it too long but I know it was only 2 weeks the second purchase and mould was growing in it. Fresh lemongrass would last longer!
