Recipes
Sweet & Sour Tofu Serving Suggestion:
Total Time: 20mins
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 tsp olive oil
70g gluten free plain flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
320g firm tofu (cubed)
120g basmati rice (60g per person)
1 jar of Bay's Kitchen Sweet & Sour stir-in sauce
Handful of beansprouts (optional)
Method: Boil the kettle and pour into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the Basmati rice to the pan and cook on medium heat for approx. 15 minutes (please see the rice packet for exact time instructions) Meanwhile, mix the flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add a tsp of oil to a frying pan or skillet and then carefully fry the tofu for 2-3minutes on each side. Once done set aside on paper towel to absorb the excess oil. If you want to have beansprouts gently fry these in the pan for 3 minutes. In a separate pan, add the Bay's Kitchen Sweet & Sour Stir-in Sauce and stir in the tofu and beansprouts. Leave to simmer for 2 minutes Go back to the rice - drain well, cover and let stand for 3 minutes then lightly fork through the grains Split the rice evenly between two bowls/plates and add the sweet & sour tofu and beansprouts on top to serve… Why not try with chopsticks?!
