Not a salad dressing vinegar
As a recipe writer and food blogger, this is not a salad dressing vinegar. It's quite sharp, not at all mellow or sweet like others have said. It's probably fine with big flavours, like in a chimichurri, but not the bottle to go for if you're only having 2-3 vinegars around the house. I thought it was expensive and wouldn't repurchase.
Gentle and tasty
I use this now in place of red wine vinegar on salads. Rather than make a dressing, I simply drizzle on some oil, and then sprinkle on a few drops of vinegar. The pourer makes this really easy. It's a lovely gentle combination of sweet and acid.
the skeptic in me has been converted
Having always bought the cheapest white wine vinegar in the past I was skeptical about whether this vinegar would be worth the extra. It is. I wanted a good vinegar for summer salads and this doesnt disappoint. It is perfectly balanced and none to sour. The sherry flavour comes through and makes this wonderfully rounded and quite moreish.
Worth every penny
A great vinegar for making dressings, but I sometimes use just a splash of this vinegar on its own on salads...healthy, and tasty. I would say much less acidic than 'younger' vinegars.
Great discovery.
It's first time I'm trying sherry vinegar and it's very tasty. Perfect with salad. It's quite acidic, so I just use a small amount and the texture is a little sticky.
lovely rich flavour
Can work as a good substitute for red wine vinegar in dressings and sauces
