History
Bodegas Beronia is quintessentially Rioja. Its wines are defined by the region and the soils in which the vines are grown, and its name linked to the history of the land where the winery is found. In the 3rd Century BC the area known as Rioja today was inhabited by a celtic tribe called the ‘Berones’. They inhabited the towns of Tricio, Varea and Leiva, marking the limits of the Berones region, today La Rioja. The founding ethos of Beronia is strongly allied to the origins of La Rioja.

Vinification details
Harvesting is carried out mechanically and at night to maintain the fruit's freshness and prevent grape oxidation through expedited processing. The pressing is done gently in an inert atmosphere to minimize browning in the must, and there is also a separation of the musts based on their quality. Fermentation takes place under controlled conditions, with selected yeasts, at a temperature between 14-17ºC for 10-15 days, using two different materials in the winery:
• Stainless steel tanks that providing absolute control over temperature and fermentation speed, resulting in wines with a clean, complex, and intense aroma.
• Concrete tanks, which promote wine contact with lees, and due to its porosity (micro-oxygenation), help achieve wines with a great mouthfeel. After aging on lees for a period of 2 to 3 months with weekly stirrings, the wines are clarified and filtered before being bottled, aiming for the perfect blend.
Furthermore, one of the most distinctive features of Beronia Rueda is the ability to store must, delaying the alcoholic fermentation of a portion of the harvest until the following spring, always maintaining a very high aromatic level in the wine throughout the entire vintage as the cycle progresses.
