Tastes ok but misleading price
Good taste. Watery and needs drying. Ok to have in cupboard for emergencies, but Tofoo fresh tempeh is much better. Misleading cost as the drained weight makes this much more expensive than implied.
only if there are no options
Only get this if there are no options - which is often none! This is totally misleading, its not 400g inside, instead its 175g when drained. So youre paying for a glass jar, a lot of water and very little tempeh. As for the tempeh itself, great that its organic, although its in water therefore very soggy. Best to drain it overnight but such a long process for such a small amount. I wish there were more options but unfortunately not. I am Indonesian, where this is from. So yes, quite disappointed with both price and quality.
Avoid
This is revolting. Just buy the fresh ones from Tiba Tempeh
Disappointing
We are vegan and organic for the planet and our health, so this should have been excelent, as many good vegan cookbooks use Tempeh. BUT I did not like the taste of this product, sadly. I also agree with reviewers about the misleading cost as so muvch water and also that at least in glass and not plastic- so it gets 3 stars....
Odd looking but tasty
Like other reviewers, I thought this looked a bit odd. I've seen tofu swimming in water - but not tempeh. I'd say it's tasty - mellow and there's quite bit in the bottle to last a couple of meals. Great for quickies like rice with spinach with tomatoes and chillies.
Misleading price per 100g
ignore the price per 100g - much of the 400g is water. I think you end up with less than 200g tempeh, making other brands better value.
