Its not yeast free
It is described as "yeast Free" but is actually no added yeast. It has sourdough in it which is a culture of natural yeasts. So the bread is not yeast free.
Really delicious. Lovely as is with some soft cheese, say, but equally delicious lightly toasted and used as a base for an egg-anchovy open sandwich etc. Also v good buttered with a teaspoon of honey, crumpet-style! Freezes nicely, and its worth halving the slices beforehand - theyre wonderfully filling.
This is absolutely fantastic. The texture is lovely, it's dense and moist without being soggy, and it's great value when compared to other products with similarly high quality ingredients. Will definitely be making it a regular purchase.
Very good option, I switched to this bread for breakfast (I made my own sourdough usually) because it fills me more and I feel more satisfied. It is organic, sprouts are also a great addition, and there are no nasty ingredients inside (sometimes you find nasty oils and other stuff even in organic healthy-looking food). My son wanted to try it and he liked it too. Recommended.
Makes delicious toast!
I never thought that i'd be eating beans on toast again. That's until I tried toasting this declicious Rye Bread from Biona with the sprouted seeds, that make it nice and moist. Just add some Clearspring baked beans - that come in a jar, with no sugar, and butter the bread with Happy Butter ghee and you have heaven on a plate. Hope you enjoy!
Exquisite, exceptional, outstanding!
All the Biona organic dark sourdough rye breads are outstanding! They have an exquisite, gorgeous dark, rich nutty flavour and beautiful moist chewy texture - the depth of flavour and texture is exceptional. All of them are made with clean and simple organic ingredients and no additives. Sourdough is easier to digest than regular bread as the fermentation process breaks down gluten and is excellent for beneficial healthy gut bacteria, and being organic these are perfect – how proper authentic dark sourdough rye bread should be. Delicious whether toasted or fresh. Another winner from Biona!
