Bodegas Palacio, which is based in Laguardia in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, was founded in 1894 by Don Cosme Palacio. It forms part of the Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos. The winery owns 200 hectares of vineyards and focuses on classic Rioja styles made from 100% Tempranillo, as well as traditional white wines made predominantly from Viura. The cooler climate and generous rainfall in Rioja Alavesa gives the wines their trademark freshness and elegance.

Selected grapes from vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa. Rioja Alavesa is a very special area for the production of unique and high-quality wines with the microclimate of the region protecting the vines from both cold and wetwinds from the North and the intense heat of the South. The vines are grown on calcareous clay terraces at altitude, allowing the grapes to mature slowly and gradually, preserving their characteristic aromas and creating expressive and complex wines.
