Bodegas Cosme Palacio, which is based in Laguardia in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, was founded in 1894 by Don Cosme Palacio. It forms part of the Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos. The winery owns 200 hectares of vineyards and focuses on classic Rioja styles made from 100% Tempranillo, as well as traditional white wines made predominantly from Viura. The cooler climate and generous rainfall in Rioja Alavesa give the wines their trademark freshness and elegance.

The grapes were harvested from the oldest vineyards after careful checks on their ripeness. The picking was carried out using small crates so as not to damage the fruit and upon arrival at the winery, they underwent cold pre-maceration before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After long maceration, the wine was transferred to French oak barrels, where it remained for 22 months.
