If you are looking for a cream cheese substitute, this couldnt be further afield. Even measuring it on a stand alone basis, it tastes awful.
It's a nice spread
This is not cheese and it's not really meant to be cheese. It's a substitute. I found it nice in terms of texture and the flavour isn't cheesy but lemony. I like it as an alternative to cream cheese. it's great on oat crackers and rice crackers with avocado, basil, tomatoes. it doesn't cause inflammation for me, unlike other brands I have tried.
Received this to review, I dont think I would buy it again. Tasted bland, there are better vegan cream cheeses out there.
wish I had read the oldest reviews
Thought this would be like nush, but its runnier and has a very strange aftertaste, like flowers or something floral. Its vile and I gagged and spat it in the sink. I thought someone had played a prank on me it tastes so strange... sadly no, its how it actually tastes.
creamy and flavoursome just like the real thing
My husband cannot have dairy and one of the things he misses most is the proper garlicy soft cheese roulade. He tried Bonsan and loved it, said it just like the real thing and having tried it myself I would agree
Delectable creamy vehicle for bolder tart flavours
Perhaps grainier than Nush and without the live cultures but as with other almond 'cream cheese' alternatives this is simply scrumptious on sourdough toast and combined with orange marmalade or rhubarb conserve. While we make it as a simple, 'healthier' homage to our memory of cheese cake, its definitely a tastier treat than most vegan cakes currently available.
