Islay is a stunningly beautiful, unspoilt island that lies off the west coast of Scotland. Bowmore is the original Islay distillery, having hand crafted its award winning single malt whisky since 1779. Bowmore lies at the heart of the island, on the shore of Loch Indaal, and is regarded as the 'best balanced' Islay malt whisky, characterised by its wonderfully rich, warm and smoky flavours.
Colour: Burnt Sienna.
Nose: Dark chocolate and raisin aromas compliment the classic Bowmore smokiness.
Palate: Wonderful Cedar wood and rich treacle toffee flavours.
The finish is robust and warming with a hint of sherry tannin.

Subtle whisky
I am not a regular drinker of whisky, but I really enjoyed this as an after dinner drink. I liked the subtle aroma and found it very warming and not at all harsh. The moment I sipped it, the taste filled my mouth.
Bowmore peat
I was pleasantly surprised that it was a peated whisky, giving it that suttle smoky taste. It was easy to drink with ice or a dash of ginger ale. No funny after taste and not as harsh as I thought it would be. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Smoky and Flavourful
This whisky has an appealing colour and is pleasant on the nose. It does have a fairly strong taste with hints of peat and smoke. I tried this neat but would suggest enjoying this with a splash of water or an ice cube to both mellow the aftertase and unlock the depth of flavour. Overall a very enjoyable whisky but may be a bit harsh for some.
Smooth and warming
Great tasting single malt, high quality, very smooth. Goes down so well! Would buy again as a treat for myself. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
Good sipper
Nose. Light sweet low level phanolic smokyness. Salty Almost oily mouth feel Taste. Fairly dry for a smoked whiskey. Tinyest touch of salt. Wood smoke flavour. Green apple note's. Odd phenolic taste initially like burnt rubber. But this airs out. Barely sugar. Warming Drop of water lightens the smoke aroma, but increases phenolics aroma notes. Don't feel the taste improves, it mutes the flavours. Dark tan colour. Nice sipper
Delightful
This is a great drink. Perfect to relax to after a hard days work. It is refreshing and powerful. I highly rate this.
