Product Information
Calasparra rice is what you want for paella and all sorts of Spanish rice dishes. It is highly absorbent - 2.5 times its weight in liquid - so this rice really shows off the flavour of your stocks and cooking liquids.
This special rice is produced by Cooperativa de la Virgen de Esperanza in Murcia, on Spain's Mediterranean coast. Cultivated in Calasparra since the 17th century, it is also the first rice in the world to obtain a Denomination of Origin.
Paellas can be a simple or complex as you want. With a bag of Calasparra rice you have the one essential ingredient.
