How I opened the can
Just in case you have the same difficulty I did! The middle circular part does open if you can get the right angle on it. In the end, I used the end of a corkscrew, which was thin enough to get underneath the edge without having to lever against the square edge of the tin, which I felt risked breaking the blade of a knife. Once it was open a tiny bit, I used a teaspoon as a lever to avoid deforming the edge of the circular lid. Resulting chilli was pretty good I think, but how much of that was the smoked paprika? Who knows?
This is absolutely my favourite spice - deliciously balanced spice and smokiness - and SO versatile. Fantastic to see it available in a large tin and on special offer as well. Used it last night to spice aubergines - along with cinnamon and chilli - in a thick tomato sauce, then threw some falafel in towards the end - simply divine.
Wonderful and intensive flavour
This was a BIG can but has been worth every penny! I bought it about a year ago and in my normal little family it's now about half gone but the flavour is as good as ever. I really can't recommend this product highly enough I highy recommend you to buy it and enjoy.
Sweet Smoky Deliciousness!
This is the most flavourful, sweet smoky paprika around. I add it to most homemade dishes from soups to stews and everything in between. Makes a great fajita seasoning and a wonderful addition to roasted sweet potatoes. Thanks Ocado for stocking this large tin.
Awesome flavour....just had to get the huge tin....my family adore this stuff
Have been buying the small tins of this wonderfully tasty sweet smoked paprika for years. Thank you Ocado for stocking this lovely big tin. My favourite recipe using this spice is goulash soup - wonderfully warming in the winter - now I can make loads of it! Ooh and its great in a spice rub for pulled pork.
